Improving Communication Safety in High-Risk Storage Areas
Alcohol storage rooms in nuclear power plants are classified as high-risk areas due to the potential for fire and explosion. Communication equipment installed in such environments must meet strict safety and operational requirements. Conventional communication devices may not be suitable for these conditions and can introduce additional safety risks. The existing communication infrastructure could not fully meet the stringent safety requirements of the nuclear power plant environment. In addition to compliance concerns, unreliable communication could affect routine inspections and emergency response when rapid coordination is required. To address these challenges, the alcohol storage rooms underwent a communication system upgrade designed to improve communication reliability and provide safer communications for daily operations and emergency situations.
JR-TH-05 Acoustic Hood for Noisy Industrial Environments
The project selected the JR-TH-05 Acoustic Hood, designed for industrial environments where high background noise and demanding operating conditions can affect voice communication. The robust enclosure provides resistance to corrosion, temperature variations, rain and dust, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor industrial applications. Its acoustic design helps reduce surrounding noise and improve voice clarity, enabling personnel to communicate more effectively in noisy areas. The unit is also equipped with a visual and audible alert system on the top, providing an immediate notification when an incoming call is received. This helps ensure that calls are not missed in busy or noisy working environments. With a wall-mounted installation design, the JR-TH-05 can be conveniently installed at the required communication points while adapting to the operational requirements of the alcohol storage area.
A Reliable Industrial Communication Solution
The communication upgrade enhances the safety and reliability of communications within the alcohol storage rooms. The project also demonstrates how industrial communication and emergency communication solutions can be adapted to demanding environments such as nuclear power plants, hazardous storage facilities and other high-risk industrial sites.
