Project Background
The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (Akkuyu NPP), located on the Mediterranean coast in Mersin Province, southern Turkey, is the country's first nuclear power plant and one of its major energy infrastructure projects. Led by Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, the project requires reliable communication equipment capable of supporting demanding industrial environments. In September 2022, J&R industrial telephones from the JR105-FK series were deployed at Akkuyu NPP to support daily communications, equipment maintenance, and coordination between different areas of the facility.
Communication Solution Deployment
To meet the requirements for equipment durability and clear voice communication in industrial environments, J&R supplied JR105-FK series industrial telephones. Featuring a die-cast aluminum alloy housing and a weatherproof enclosure, the telephone offers IP66/IP67 ingress protection and IK10 impact resistance. These features help the device withstand challenging environmental conditions, including moisture, dust, vibration, and mechanical impact, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications. For reliable voice communication, the telephone incorporates advanced noise reduction technology and a handset with a noise-cancelling microphone, helping improve speech clarity in challenging environments. The JR105-FK-SIP model supports the SIP 2.0 protocol and can integrate with compatible IP-PBX systems. Additional features include Power over Ethernet (PoE), automatic dialing, and automatic switching between primary and backup servers. These capabilities simplify system integration and support reliable communication across industrial facilities.
