Vandal-Resistant Communication System Upgrade for a Prison in Poland
In June 2022, J&R vandal-resistant communication equipment was successfully deployed in a prison security communication project in Poland. The project partner specializes in data, video, and voice transmission services, with extensive experience in communication system integration.
A total of 300 units of JR204-FK-AL Vandal-Resistant Analog Telephones were deployed to establish a stable, secure, and tamper-resistant internal voice communication network, providing reliable communication support for daily management and emergency response.
Communication Challenges in High-Security Environments
Prisons are highly secure and high-wear environments where communication equipment is exposed to challenges such as intentional damage, frequent usage, and complex operating conditions. Conventional telephone equipment often lacks sufficient protection against impact, dismantling, and unauthorized modification, resulting in increased maintenance requirements and potential communication security risks. Meanwhile, high noise levels within prison areas can affect voice clarity and reduce communication efficiency between officers and on-site personnel. Therefore, the customer required a specialized industrial telephone featuring high protection, impact resistance, tamper resistance, and reliable communication performance to meet the demanding requirements of correctional facilities.
Vandal-Resistant Design Enhances Communication Reliability
The project adopted the JR204-FK-AL Vandal-Resistant Analog Telephone, featuring a full metal housing design with IP54 protection and IK10 impact resistance. The robust structure effectively withstands impact, damage, and unauthorized tampering in high-security environments, improving equipment durability and operational reliability. Designed for complex prison environments, the telephone integrates noise-reduction technology to ensure clear voice transmission in noisy areas. It also supports remote configuration, status inspection, and system linkage functions, while remaining compatible with traditional PABX telephone systems for easy deployment and centralized management. With wide-temperature operation capability and line-powered design, the device requires no additional power supply, ensuring long-term stable operation in high-security applications.
Enhancing Prison Safety Communication Capabilities
After deployment, 300 vandal-resistant telephones effectively addressed key challenges including equipment damage, frequent maintenance, and insufficient communication quality within the prison environment. The rugged protective structure reduces the risk of intentional damage and extends equipment service life, while clear voice communication improves daily coordination efficiency. Remote management functions further enhance the control and management capabilities of the communication system. This project demonstrates the reliability of J&R industrial communication solutions in the field of correctional security and provides a proven communication reference for high-security applications including prisons, detention centers, airports, and rail transit facilities.
