Reliable Emergency Communication for Public Infrastructure

Emergency communication is an essential part of safety and daily operations across transportation and public infrastructure. When an incident occurs, personnel in the field need a fast and reliable way to contact a control center, while facility operators need effective tools to monitor and manage communication terminals.
In July 2020, J&R provided an emergency communication solution for transportation and public facilities in Istanbul, Turkey. The project deployed JR103-FK and JR104-SC industrial telephones, integrated with an analog communication management system to establish reliable communication between field locations and the management center.

Industrial Telephones for Transportation Applications

Transportation and public facilities require communication equipment that can withstand demanding operating conditions while remaining simple to use. For this project, J&R selected industrial emergency telephones as the field communication terminals.
  
The JR103-FK features a robust industrial design, an industrial-grade keypad, a noise-reducing microphone and a metal armored handset cord. It is suitable for locations where enhanced equipment protection is required.
The JR104-SC features a hands-free, one-button dialing design, allowing users to initiate calls quickly and easily in public areas and other locations where straightforward emergency communication is required.
Both models support standard analog telephone systems and can be connected to conventional PABX systems, allowing them to integrate with the project's existing communication infrastructure.

Analog Communication System for Centralized Management

The project used an analog communication management system to connect field telephone terminals with the central communication system.
Field personnel can use the emergency telephones to quickly contact the management center, while operators can manage communication terminals from a centralized location.
The JR103-FK and JR104-SC also support remote configuration and scheduled testing functions, helping operators perform centralized equipment management and routine status checks. This can simplify day-to-day maintenance and reduce the need for unnecessary on-site inspections.

Improving Emergency Communication and Response

By combining industrial emergency telephones with an analog communication management system, J&R provided transportation and public facilities in Istanbul with a practical and accessible communication solution.
Following deployment, personnel at field locations can quickly contact the management center when communication is required, while operators can centrally manage and maintain the connected communication terminals. The solution supports reliable daily communication and emergency response across public infrastructure.
The project demonstrates J&R's approach to transportation and public infrastructure communication: combining reliable industrial communication terminals with existing communication systems to deliver practical and dependable emergency communication solutions for complex environments.
